Curator was founded in 2005 by Deirdre Nagayama and Stacy Rodgers on the second floor of a Victorian house in San Francisco. There, they crafted clothes that were beautifully made and beautifully worn. That mission continues today.
Over the last decade, they developed long-standing relationships with a close-knit group of independent craftspeople who help them produce high-quality garments while minimizing waste. They are family.
All garments are made in the U.S. with 70% of the line manufactured within a 10-min drive from their shops. This helps maintain personal relationships that are vital to the quality and integrity of the clothing.
Curator works with two family-owned factories; one in the Bayshore district of SF that produces their knits; another in the SOMA district that makes their wovens. In the Fall of 2009, Deirdre and Stacy opened a retail location in the Upper Noe district of San Francisco. In 2013, they opened a second, larger location with bookstore Needles & Pens in the Mission District.
Their shops are filled with goods from like-minded companies who follow the same high standards.
Know your clothes.
